Private lessons with Noreen offer students a personalized, one-on-one learning experience rooted in strong foundational art instruction, classical technique, and an appreciation for the beauty of the world around us. Drawing on more than 20 years of teaching in homeschool programs, community education, senior centers, and college-level art history courses, Noreen tailors each lesson to the student’s age, skill level, and artistic goals - whether that’s learning the basics, strengthening technical ability, or exploring a new medium with confidence.

Her private sessions include focused instruction in drawing, painting, color theory, composition, and the essential skills that build artistic proficiency. Just as importantly, she weaves in engaging lessons on art history - introducing students to the master artists, movements, and ideas that have shaped visual art through the centuries. This combination of hands-on practice and meaningful context helps students understand not only how to create art, but why artists throughout time have approached their work in different ways.

Private lessons may be held in the student’s home, a community space, or another mutually comfortable location within the upstate and central New York region. All ages and abilities are welcome, from young beginners to adults returning to creativity after years away.
